Delete your account and data
Grialis by Adolf Blisse
Grialis only has accounts for the community (friends, room visits, book clubs). Books, reading progress and your room are stored on your device and are not part of the account. The exception is the cloud backup (reading progress, notes, statistics and room without books), which is stored with the account and deleted with it.
Delete in the app
- Open Grialis and tap Friends at the bottom.
- Tap the gear (settings) at the top right.
- At the very bottom, choose Delete account and confirm with Delete permanently.
The account is deleted immediately.
Delete without the app
Send an email to [email protected] with the subject “Delete Grialis account”, ideally from the email address you signed in with. The account is deleted within 30 days and you receive a confirmation.
What is deleted
- email address, display name and friend code
- friendships, requests, visit permissions and stickers
- your shared room, the look of your character and pet, your shared reading status
- your club memberships, progress and reactions in clubs
- your comments
- your blocks
- your cloud backup
Clubs you founded pass to the longest-standing member. Empty clubs are deleted.
What is kept for a while
- Reports by other users about your content (reason and copy of the reported text or name) are kept without a link to your account until they are handled, and are deleted at the latest six months after that. This protects the community against abuse.
- Backups at the hosting provider may contain the data for up to 30 days until they are overwritten.
Delete some data without deleting your account
In the app under Friends:
- Your own club comments and private messages: tap Delete on the message.
- Club membership including your progress in the club: Leave club in the club.
- A friendship including visit permission and private messages: Remove on the friend.
- Who may enter your room is set in the settings under “Who may enter your room?”.
- Cloud backup: Delete cloud backup in the settings.
Anything else, for example your shared room or your display name, we delete on request: email [email protected] with the subject “Grialis delete data” and say which data. Done within 30 days, you will receive a confirmation. Deleted data is handled as described above under “What is kept for a while”.
Data on your device
Books, reading progress, notes, statistics and your room are stored on your device, and with an account also in the cloud backup. On the device, you delete them by uninstalling the app or clearing its data in the system settings. You delete the cloud backup as described above.
